This happened a few years ago, but I feel obligated to warn people. I took my Ma's vehicle in for a routine oil change, didn't have issues in the past with Sterling Car Care (Sterling Hts. location). After getting the car back, the A/C was blowing warm air. Took it back for them to look at, they said the system has a leak and needs expensive repair, I declined. Had my cousin (a refrigeration tech) look at it, he pulled a zero vacuum and said NO LEAKS, and proceeded to refill with refrigerant. He said since it was R12 it was no longer available, and is expensive. The refrigerant was likely extracted to fix another vehicle. Needless to say I've never been back. Service: Oil change
Gordon. I am sorry you had a bad experience a few years ago and decided to post about it now. While I was not the owner a few years ago I find it unlikely the previous owner would go to lengths to extract R12 from your vehicle to use it on another vehicle. I also wouldn't normally respond to such an accusation but the fact it took a few years to write the review and knowing the integrity of the previous owner quite honestly irritates me you would write this without proof. We are hard working small business owners doing honest work.
